Welcome to St Peter's Church, Westhampnett.

It’s good to welcome you to St Peter’s website. St Peter’s is one of several Anglican churches in and around Chichester, and is situated to the east of the city on the historic Roman road of Stane street. It is a village Church with an engaged and flourishing congregation. We have social activities for young and old and a Sunday school for all young people once a month.
Serving the villages of Westhampnett, Westerton and Maudlin, we are also privileged to have The March Church of England (Aided) Primary School within a short distance of the church, with which we maintain a close relationship.
St. Peter's congregation is a growing family of all ages and backgrounds to which everyone is welcome. We are committed to joyful and prayerful worship, embracing our heritage whilst meeting the challenges of our modern age. Christians have worshipped on this site since Saxon times and today we take seriously our responsibility to cherish and refresh our inheritance. St Peter's belongs to the United benefice of St Peter and St Paul, Chichester.
The church is open every day and is a place of peace and sanctuary. We hope that you will visit it. We invite you to make it your spiritual home

Church Schools: Church Attendance Requirements

A number of our local schools are church schools, and some of them are under great demand for places. All of them have their own admission requirements, and prospective parents are encouraged to read these carefully, ideally several years before application has to be made. In most cases church attendance (both regularity and duration) is an important requirement, and at St Peter’s we are only too pleased to welcome new parents and their children, even if their impetus for joining us is their hope of eventually obtaining a place at a church school. What we ask from them is a real openness to the Gospel and a willingness to share our life as fully as possible. We also ask parents to sign the Church Attendance Register at the back of the church; it provides the evidence to enable Church Support Forms to be completed in due course.
